Banjarnegara, Central Java (ANTARA) - The 14th Dieng Culture Festival (DCF) will be held on August 23-25, 2024, the Dieng Pandawa Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) in Banjarnegara District, Central Java, announced on Sunday.
"The implementation of the 14th DCF in 2024 has been determined, namely on August 23-25, but we are still fixing the schedule and location of the activity," Chairperson of the Dieng Pandawa Pokdarwis, Alif Faozi, said in a statement.
Faozi said the the group, as the festival's organizer, was still preparing a detailed itinerary for this year's DCF event which carries the theme "Back to Journey", which is focused on reviving cultural values.
Therefore, some music performances that were usual features will be reduced, he continued.
"In previous DCFs, we had two music events, 'Jazz Atas Awan' and 'Harmony Atas Awan.' This year, Harmony Atas Awan might be excluded, leaving only Jazz Atas Awan." he said.
As a result, the music performance will be a one-night event this year.
Faozi explained that Harmony Atas Awan and Jazz Atas Awan could become separate events outside the DCF.
Both programs are expected to boost tourism in the Dieng Highlands of Central Java.
"The DCF activities will focus more on traditional art performances as the main event," Faozi said.
Regarding the location, he said his group will coordinate with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology.
The organizer will propose the usual location at the Arjuna Temple Complex and the Pandawa Field, Faozi said.
"The Ministry is interested in learning more, even though the DCF is already part of the Kharisma Event Nusantara."
