Magelang, ANTARA JATENG- Landslides triggered by incessant heavy rains, hit three sub-districts in Magelang District, Central Java Province, on Saturday.

The affected sub-districts were Sawangan, Kajoran, and Borobudur, Edy Susanto of the Magelang disaster mitigation office, said here, Sunday.

There were no reports of casualty in the disaster, he said.

In Sawangan, landslides struck Kadisono and Gantang villages. Mud reaching a height of up to two meters, blocked Nglulang-Kadisono road.

"I urge local residents to remain vigilant because more landslides are likely occur," he added.

In Kejoran, landslides buried two homes located respectively in Santren and Wuwuharj villages.

Four villages - Karangsari, Bigaran, Miriombowetan, and Giripurno, located in Borobudur Sub-district, were affected by the landslides.

Volunteers and local inhabitants were trying to clear mud and rocks in affected locations, while the disaster mitigation office distributed relief aid to victims of the disaster.
